Design Process
We always strive to get you the best value. Thats why we don't do free quotes! Why should YOU pay for someone else's quote that never went ahead? PAID quotes means a LOWER quote cost. It also means we can often help you with instant repairs and work on the spot if that is required.
We believe in being honest about ALL of our costs "up front" so that there are NO SURPRISES for you!
1. InitiaL EMAILS AND PHOTOS
Take PHOTOS of your existing installation and email them to us. The more photos and the more detail, the better! If you have any other plans and photos of where you want stuff then send those too!
We'll take a look over what you've sent us and let you know if and how we can help and give you some indicative pricing.
We will also let you know how much your initial design site visit will cost.
All email opinions and estimations are FREE.

2.
SITE VISIT, DESIGN AND QUOTE
Once you have paid your design visit fee (usually by credit card over the 'phone but we do also accept bank transfers and cash), we arrange for a site visit to investigate your situation and record our engineering details for your job.
We then provide you with a comprehensive design and quote complete with photos showing exactly where your items will be placed and what you're getting for your money.
Our design fees range from $176 to $209 inc GST and depend on the distance between your site and our workshop.
3. ACCEPTANCE OF QUOTE
Once you have accepted your quote, we will let you know if there is any deposit payable before we can start (usually required for work over $5000, for new customers, or jobs with a large materials component). All of our quotes are FIXED PRICE. Once you accept the quote, you can relax and be assured that the price will not change. Card fees of 1.25% apply for quote amounts over $5000 paid by credit card.
If you accept your quote within 30 days of issue, the design fee you paid will appear on your final invoice as a credit!
We will then order materials and conduct any further design work required to commence your job, before discussing some start dates.

4. JOB GOES AHEAD
Once materials are all obtained and we can secure a suitable time in our works schedule, your job will commence.
If the work involves shut downs, we will discuss this with you and if necessary, provide temporary or alternative power for you if required.
If the work involves liaison with your electricity distributor or requires special metering, underground trenching, erection of new poles or other work, these will be arranged in advance.
5. TESTING AND COMMISSIONING
Once complete, we will test all aspects of your installation to ensure that everything operates as intended and is safe. We will then instruct you in how to use any new installed equipment.
Payment of your remaining amount falls due once work is completed. You can pay by credit card or cash on the spot, or pay by bank transfer within 14 days of your invoice being issued.
Warranty commences from the date your job is paid for in full and lasts for 12 months.

6. FOLLOW UP
If your job involves metering or consumers mains, a NOSW (Notification of Service Work) will be issued to your distributor who may choose to attend and inspect the work.
If your job involves major additions or alterations to the Main Switchboard, a NOEW will be issued to both you and the distributor as a confirmation of compliance with regulations and completion of required testing. The distributor may also choose to inspect although this is rare nowadays.
If your installation involved complex circuit arrangements (such as for grid connect battery installations with maintained and non maintained circuits), you will also be issued with plans outlining your installation so that other contractors who work on it, can clearly understand how it has been designed and how it works. Note that no other electrician will do this.
